about alexis

Alexis graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where she combined studies of painting and sculpture. After receiving her BFA, she moved back to her home city of Chicago and established a painting company specializing in custom surfaces for residential homes. This experience naturally led to doing scenic painting for theaters and custom surfaces for photography studios and advertising.
She now works full time as the Senior Scenic Artist for Crate&Barrel, CB2, and Crate Kids Marketing Photography Studio. Alexis leads a team of painters that translates design and brings textures, faux finishes, and murals across all Crate&Barrel brands.
Alexis is known for the high-quality and precision of her work by the corporate clients, designers, photographers, and homeowners she partners with. She enjoys working closely with people to translate their ideas into a reality and her technical expertise and experience enable her to create unique environments and concepts. With her extensive knowledge of painting processes and her background in sculpture, there has never been a project that she couldn’t achieve. As a dedicated artist, Alexis continues to perfect her craft while exploring and creating new techniques and expressions of her creativity.
“I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.”
― Pablo Picasso
